Epilepsy Support Group
10/27/2015Epilepsy affects 2.5 to 5 million people in the United States. This is a challenging disorder for many reasons. Because epilepsy is a complex neurological condition, many times people need help sorting through its medical, educational, social, and emotional aspects. Most of what the general public knows is based on oversimplification, myths and outdated information, further perpetuating the problem.
PEAK Community Foundation along with PEAK Community Services wants to continue helping with improving the outlook for people diagnosed with epilepsy. We have accomplished this by providing presentations to the community free of charge. At this time we would like to extend our support by starting an Epilepsy/Seizure Disorder support group. We look forward to further enabling those who feel challenged, frustrated, and/or lonely living with Epilepsy/Seizure Disorders.
This support group will have its initial beginning on Tuesday, October 27th, 6:00 p.m. at PEAK Community Services, 1416 Woodlawn Avenue, Logansport, Indiana. Contact Cinda Milan, Epilepsy Educator for PEAK Community Services, 574-753-4104 ext. 211, to register or with any questions you may have.
